After its stupendous success in 2008, Indore Marathon is back again this year in its second edition!
Indore united for "Peace" on October 2, 2008 exhibiting its concern towards tranquility and solidarity to harmony. An awe inspiring display of the collective consciousness, Indore Marathon was representative of the greatest endowment of this country - a conscious citizenry united for a common cause. As Indore Marathon 2009 attempts to expand this year, it grows out to encompass a wider cause - environmental balance.
With our slogan “Run… for a Greener Indore”, Indore Marathon 2009 hopes to focus on the most fundamental, yet, neglected issue facing us. The importance of nature in all our lives needs no introduction. We have been taught, but at most times not learnt the essence of the respect that is due to this blessing from the divine. Environmental degradation - be it through the use of plastic bags, or improper waste disposal, air and noise pollution is a problem that is real like never before.
With this run, we take a small step in making all of us realize the importance of ‘green’ in our lives and how the solution to this global problem lies in our very hands.
With ‘Nature’ being our protagonist, we invite all of you to play your supporting roles to make this initiative a magnum opus.
Let the roads of Indore reverberate with the green symphony played by the philharmonic citizenry of this great city. Let us make a statement like never before.
