Indore Marathon 2011
After an overwhelming success of the last three seasons, Indore Marathon is back with its fourth edition. In view of growing health concerns amongst the masses, this year's theme for Indore Marathon is 'Run for a Healthy India'. Indore Marathon is a unique opportunity to showcase your zeal, commitment and solidarity towards the vision of a healthy India. Why Health? Sedentary lifestyle coupled with unhealthy eating habits has resulted in an escalation of health related problems being faced by a large portion of urban population. In view of rising population, the basic healthcare and sanitation facilities continue to be inadequate in large parts of rural India. The excessive usage of antibiotics has lead to the rise of a new breed of germs which are resistant to drugs. The advancements in the field of medicine would never belie the age-old golden principle of 'Prevention is better than cure'. Our Objective This years' Indore Marathon is an attempt to sensitize the masses towards growing health concerns and promote the notion of health consciousness. IIM Indore, a premier b-school, is famous not only for metamorphosing effective business managers, but also for shaping socially responsive Indian citizens. Continuing the trend, we at IIM Indore, are happy to organise Indore Marathon on the memorable occasion of Gandhi Jayanti this year. Our Expectations from You We cordially invite you all to be a part of this mega event on 2nd October, 2011. Let the roads of Indore be flooded with the enthusiasm of people running for the noble cause of healthcare. John Hanc, the author of 'The Coolest Race on Earth' has remarked, "I've learned that finishing a marathon isn't just an athletic achievement. It's a state of mind; a state of mind that says anything is possible." Let us all put our best foot forward for 'A Healthy and Joyful India'. Stay Connected |
