October 2, 2009 - Indore ran for a united cause and a common reason - Our Nature, Our Earth, and Our Planet. Thousands of people of different ages from different walks of life from varied backgrounds ran together voicing the same slogan "Run for a Greener Indore". The march was led by the Who's who of the city!

The importance of Mother Nature in our lives requires no introduction, however we tend to forget its blessing and take it for granted. The harsh truth being that if we continue at the current rate of environmental degradation, the future generation shall hardly have anything green to see, any tree to sit under, any cool fresh air to breathe, any lawns to stroll in!! Precisely why the whole of Indore set out to paint the town green!

The event was flagged off by a 12 km Green run starting from SGSITS grounds followed by a 3 km long dream run. More than 100 prizes including a Bajaj XCD bike and a laptop were given away to participants. The participants exuded high degree of enthusiasm and the event was attended by more than five thousand people. The spirit was further heightened with the side-walks of the marathon route being thronged by spectators. It was indeed a heartening sight to see Indore fight for a cause, all united, all spirited.

The need for a greener Indore was reinforced by messages from Mr. Anil Bhan - Punjab National Bank and various other dignitaries, as well as many other participants who felt that creating a greener Indore is the key to ensuring a brighter future for all generations.

The event was a huge success and through this run, IIM Indore took a small step into making everyone realize the importance of nature and how the solution to the global problem of 'environmental degradation' lies in our hand. The two cents of contribution in generating awareness from the students of IIM-Indore! All for a 'Green Indore'
