Up and Running……

We are constantly on the move, isn't it? A normal day would start when the sun would emerge from the skies and peep through the windows to wish good morning. Then the run begins. Run for a better life, a hard battle which we endure every single day. We run to the office, to the college, to the school and or maybe someplace else, but we are on the go. The whole purpose behind the daily exercise is to keep ahead of the rat race that is a part and parcel of our lives. Whether we like it or not, we do it as it concerns us in the big picture. Try removing the win and loss factor from the whole purpose of running. Would we do it if we don't derive any benefit out of it? Serious doubts emerge.

Have we ever thought about running for someone else? Someone, whom we don't even know? Run for a purpose that may not concern us directly but does concern the betterment of the society as a whole? Run for a future that would bring brightness to the life of someone who may not be blessed as we are. Try doing it. Try doing it for someone else. Try doing it for a bigger cause. Try doing it by forgetting yourself for once. Just remember the cause. Just remember the reason. Then gauge the satisfaction you derive out of your actions. It would be enough to keep you charged for a longer period of time than your breakfast cereals and energy drinks. After all, our Vedic Values teach us to practice renunciation and detachment. Just practice it for one day for a stranger who deserves every right to be on a platform where we stand today. Add value to someone's life. Bring the cheer, bring the joy and see the sparkling efforts bear fruit.

And yes, you don't need to stand in front of a mirror, wondering what the road will have to say about your outfit. You don't have to pretend to be listening while you are on the run. The road doesn't care how old you are and what is it that you are wearing. You don't feel uncomfortable in the presence of the road as a companion. You can call on the road whenever you feel like. The only thing that the road would care about is that you paid a visit and the only thing you have to care about is that it was for a cause.

Run the Indore Marathon 2010.Run for education. Run for an educated India.Help us change lives. See you on the road.
